My Students
Schools as we know it have been greatly impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Since March, the schools around the country have implemented distance learning via the internet.
As summer is under way, our district is making plans for reopening our campuses.
There are many scenarios being thrown around for possible school reopening. However, the bottom line is keeping the students socially distanced from each other, inside and outside the classroom, is imperative. That is why I need these larger tables to keep my students six feet apart throughout my classroom to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
My Project
We use our tables so much throughout the day! When we come in in the morning, we sit at our tables to unpack our belongings for the day! We also use the tables to help us get ready to go home! With all this togetherness at the tables and our current pandemic situation, I need larger tables to help space my children out. I mean take a look at the picture. We sit in a very tight space with our current tables.
When we learn throughout the day, we use our tables to complete both independent and group work!
My students use their tables to complete math, reading, science, and social studies work! Kindergarten is the time where students should have the opportunity to learn how to read and write, not which symptoms of the pandemic they could get if they touch one another. A lot of our time in kindergarten is spent collaborating with our friends! With these new lightweight chairs, we will be able to move our spots easily and safely so that we can work with our partners! Please help us get our new tables and chairs two tables at a time.
