Help me give my students personal bins for a COVID safe indoor recess!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Futrell's classroom raised $393

My Students
My students come from a variety of backgrounds and many face struggles and challenges on a daily basis. Included in their daily challenges are often times financial struggles. All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch every school day. My goal is to make the classroom a fun and welcoming environment where they can learn and grow regardless of what goes on outside of school. Even with what these kids face on a daily basis, they come to school with a positive outlook and a love for learning!
With the income restrictions placed on some of the families that I serve, many of my students do not have access to supplies to help them thrive.
My kids love to play, read, move, and everything else that your average elementary student does in a day. I cannot control what goes on outside of my classroom, but I take pride in what goes on inside of it. I want to make sure that my students strive and that they have what they need to be successful and continue their love of learning.
My Project
My students have recently returned to school part time. My students come to school in person two day per week and learn from home the other three days. During their in-person days, we still have a scheduled time for them to have free time for recess. We go outside as often as we can, but some days are rainy or too cold for my students to be safe outdoors.
When the weather does not cooperate, students need individual bins for indoor recess activities so they do not share germs with toys.
These materials will allow me to put together individual bins for each of my students to have to some fun items for indoor recess. I will be adding the play doh and tools, geo patterns, and the puzzle pieces from this project. I will also be adding some items that I already have in my classroom. It is important to have student items in the plastic tubs so that they keep their materials separate from their peers to limit the transmission of germs. This is so important to give my students fun recess items that do not involve the laptops that they already spend so much time on with virtual instruction.
