Help me give my students storage furniture to store our math books and materials!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Lahti's classroom raised $258
This project is fully funded
My Students
I serve a remarkable and unique group of children who are part of a school population of which 80% are African American and nearly 80% are low-income. Our school has defied so many odds, including attempts to shut down our high-performing school. I am privileged to work at a school whose students and community were the primary reason we prevailed in this fight!
My students are incredibly hardworking and collaborative and have an indescribable drive toward accomplishing new and challenging things.
As an experienced math teacher, it has always been my goal to not only make our class fun and engaging, but also applicable to the real world. In a class where mistakes are highlighted and part of our classroom culture, students learn to feel comfortable challenging each other's thinking. Although I strive to push my students within our classroom walls, my ultimate goal is to push them to deepen and extend their learning once they're on their own.
My Project
We recently had a fully funded project for fiction math books and resources. While we are anticipating their arrival, we are in need of somewhere to store these new additions to our classroom!
Having a bookshelf will allow us to display our math books and invite eager students to dive into reading during independent time.
The additional storage cart will be used to store our ever-growing math resources and help us to continue to stay more organized in our classroom. Both of these items will also provide more independence to students, as they will be able to find books and resources more easily!
