"Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable.... Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals." ~Martin Luther King, Jr
My school is a challenging campus as we draw from a variety of socioeconomic and ethnically diverse groups.
On my campus, there are a large number of students who will be first-time college-bound students -- some of them first-time high school graduates in their families! What a tribute to their families! My students have the drive to learn, to achieve, and to succeed enough to get them into college. All they need to succeed is dedication along with a guide to help them learn how to study, how to be proud of their work and have confidence in themselves!
My Project
I am requesting materials that will allow my students to be successful during the upcoming school year. My students need graph paper and lined paper to complete their school work. It often seems as if students use all of the school supplies in the first half of the year that were purchased at the beginning of the school year. Having the necessary materials is essential for any student to be successful!
The beginning of the second semester brings new challenges for my AVID students.
Many students need new supplies and do not have the funds to buy them. The graph paper and lined paper requested in this project will allow my students to start the semester out right!
The letters in this project will be used to post the daily essential question for each of my classes. It is important that the students understand and view the topic and standard for the day's lesson.
