This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Starting a new school year can come with some anxiety. I’d love to get these mental health and sports materials ready for my students to start their year off right. My resource students have a variety of disabilities and have difficulty regulating their emotions at times. These mental health tools will support our new school year.

This year, I plan to devise multi-sensory lessons for my students about staying emotionally regulated and identifying their feelings.

These lessons will support them in their new grade level. Students will use the cardstock and folders for lessons. The book, play dough, and other social-emotional materials will help students address their feelings using hands on materials. Students will talk through their feelings with a series of sports activities including soccer and jump rope. When you feel great, you are ready to build the math and literacy needed to thrive!
