it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have a class of 22 wonderful 2nd graders! Our last day in our classroom was on March 13, 2020. We were in the middle of many exciting projects. Since then, my entire class has been learning from home. With the safer-at-home order in our area, my students have not been able to venture out to our local parks and beaches. They have been staying home and working very hard on their schoolwork.
Physical fitness is very important in keeping students active and healthy.
Physical education time and recess was one of my student's favorite time of the day. After working hard in the classroom, we would go outside and play games with our classmates. Since the students have been home, they miss the physical education component of school.
My Project
With distance learning, my students have been spending more time behind a screen with the numerous video conferencing meetings scheduled and online assignments. Maintaining physical fitness at home is also very important for my students' health. It would be great for them to take a break from their schoolwork with equipment they can use at home. Just like at school, they would get a break from school work for some physical activities.
The jump ropes and balls will allow my students to engage in physical activities at home for the rest of this school year and summer.
Whether they have a large space or small space, the equipment requested will allow my students to have recess and physical education at home with their families. With the footballs and playground balls, the students can play catch or handball. They can practice jumping with the swing balls and jump ropes. With the scoop ball set, they can practice catching.
