My students need assistance to remain engaged and on task. As a part of their diagnosis, many of my students struggle with attention. Using games and interactive activities are a fun and exciting way to learn!

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am currently a learning support teacher at a public school in Philadelphia, PA. As a learning support teacher, I work with third grade students with varying special needs. Each of these students has an Individualized Education Program to help guide their instruction through differentiation, modifications, and accommodations in the classroom. Generally, the students on my caseload perform two to three grades below their grade level expectancy. Many of my students present difficulties with based phonics, decoding and comprehension. They also have difficulties in math including basic operation skills. Due to their difficult with focus and remaining on task, creative and engaging activities are helpful in ensuring success!
My Project
As a learning support teacher I work with a number of students that struggle with attention. They are often off-task and have difficulty remaining engaged. Games and hands-on activities often catch their attention and help them to remain focus. Each game that we play in the classroom is based around an educational need such as sight words, reading comprehension, telling time, operations or money. Reading comprehension can be an extreme challenge, however Reading Comprehension Bingo Library will help to excite my students about improving their comprehension. While Hot Dots Math flash cards provides fun way to learn both time and money. Magnetic Base Ten tiles provided the hand on experience that these student crave! The games and activities in the project are visually appealing, hands-on and will bring excitement to the classroom. I believe that these products will provide improved and continued success for my students daily!
