This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a vibrant group of 1st graders. They are a group of hard-working, talented, and energetic students that love to come to school. They are constantly asking questions, exploring and making sense of the world around them, all while learning a second language.
My students love to sing, dance, laugh, and express their learning.
Something that we pride ourselves on at our school is the joyful learning happening in all classrooms! What we may lack in resources we try our best to give our students other opportunities to learn and grow.
My Project
TIME for Kids is a magazine designed just for kids offering news coverage in a way that is age-appropriate and engaging for kids. First graders are curious about their community and world and want to engage in thoughtful conversations. These magazines will be going home on a monthly basis in order to encourage families to read along with their child and have conversations about what they read and the various topics covered. The hope is that parents feel engaged and have a tool to promote reading at home. I look forward to the great learning ahead!
