This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My class of upper elementary graders love to read, especially about real-life topics. There is no better resource to engage with that is current, relatable, and informative in an appropriate way. These magazines will be sent home on a monthly basis with the hope for the students to engage in meaningful conversations at home with their own families. Even at their age, third graders have a powerful voice that deserves to be heard. Thanks to these articles they will be practicing literacy skills as well as social. I look forward to seeing them engage in a purposeful way with the various texts.
