This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a vibrant group of 3rd graders. They are a group of hard-working, talented, and energetic students that love to come to school. They are constantly asking questions, exploring and making sense of the world around them, all while learning a second language.
My students love to sing, dance, laugh, and express their learning.
Something that we pride ourselves on at our school is the joyful learning happening in all classrooms! What we may lack in resources we try our best to give our students other opportunities to learn and grow.
My Project
My class of third graders love to read, especially about real-life topics. There is no better resource to engage with that is current, relatable, and informative in an appropriate way. These magazines will be sent home on a monthly basis with the hope for the students to engage in meaningful conversations at home with their own families. Even at their age, third graders have a powerful voice that deserves to be heard. Thanks to these articles they will be practicing literacy skills as well as social. I look forward to seeing them engage in a purposeful way with the various texts.
