My Students
My young artists love to explore! They love to expand their capabilities by experimenting with new materials and techniques.
Art class is a place for my students to shine and communicate their ideas. We are a Title I school with students that come from many different countries and backgrounds.
I have seen first hand how students break the language barrier by using art to help them communicate and connect with their peers.
My Project
During this unprecedented time, providing my students with a safe environment to create art and express themselves is of the utmost importance. These watercolor pencils and paintbrushes will be used both in school and at home for distance learning; depending on whether the students have chosen to learn remotely or attend in-person.
These supplies will ensure that the students learning in school do not need to share supplies and that the remote students will have access to the same supplies as their peers in the classroom.
Students will use these supplies to complete a variety of painting units which include art history, material explorations, and opportunities to discuss their artworks with their peers and reflect on their artistic process.
