Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am currently teaching a self-contained ELA class from grades 9-12. Most of my students have specific learning disabilities, especially in reading and math. Some of them are emotionally disturbed and others have health impairment. Most of them just rely on whatever available materials we have in our classroom.
My Project
Flu season is again in the air and yet, we are still battling and trying to survive this pandemic. These requested materials, face masks and disinfecting items, will help maintain our classroom to be a safe, clean and healthy place for learning.
My students were really impacted by the school closure (emotionally, physically and academically) last school year and so, we can't afford another school closure.
We, as teachers are trying our very best to get them caught up with those learning gaps from last school year so we are hoping that there won't be another school closure. It is very important for us to keep our classroom clean and safe for learning.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
