My Students

Help my students promote healthy habits...and get good grades!

I service multi-age children in grades kindergarten to fifth grade.

Our school is located in a suburban Michigan city. Our school is a Title I school where 95% of the students receive free or reduced lunch. My students are eager to learn and LOVE the routine and stability of our school! As a resource teacher, my goal is to improve student achievement in math, reading, and writing. The students I service are performing in the bottom 30% of the entire school population.

My Project

I am requesting a ball cart, playground balls, hula hoops, and jump ropes that will be used by students during designated recess times. Studies out of Michigan State University show that students who take part in physical activity outperform their peers on standardized tests by 30%. Not only do test scores improve, but physical activity also helps with attention issues as well as to boost self-esteem in students. This is a crucial factor, especially working with students that have low English language abilities.

By donating to this project, you will help to guarantee some basic playground equipment for my students.

Playground balls, hula hoops, jump ropes and a ball cart, to organize everything, will help keep my students active while also keeping them alert, attentive, and engaged in the classroom.
