My Students

I work in an inner-city school where most of my students come from low-income households. The neighborhoods where my students are from surround them with poverty, but still my students come to school ready to learn. Their little minds are still full of wonder and curiosity, and they want to explore as much as possible.

My students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions!

They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects, and the enjoy challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically.

My Project

Proper PPE is so important with COVID-19 surging like it is, especially in schools. We all know that proper masking is our best weapon against the spread of COVID-19. My kindergarten class is very serious about COVID-19 mitigation in our classroom. My students change their masks frequently. If they become wet or are too big, they walk and get a new one from our supplies.

Unfortunately, because we are so good with our mitigations, we are now all out of masks.

All the remaining masks in our building are too big.
