Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is one of the largest public schools in New York City located in Elmhurst, Queens. It was also the epicenter of the coronavirus which impacted many students and families. Most of our students come from low income families, another country, and majority of the students are English Language learners.

The time that I have with my Kindergarten students in class is very precious because it is where most of their learning takes place.

I hope to help my Kindergarten students build the love of learning in school and become great readers, writers and scholars!

My Project

As I begin the school year in a new classroom, having important materials such as a file cabinet, folders, hole puncher, and a scanner will help me keep my student's work in one place!

With your generous donation, Kindergarteners will be able to use new folders and class scanner to create individual portfolios and keep their classwork well organized!

It will be so wonderful to be able to revisit their one-of-a-kind work throughout the school year and see how much they have grown!

In addition, we will use the folders and file cabinet to store student's reading assessments, writing assessments, and math assessments, which can be found in one place!
