Stay Focused and Learn

My students need 15 bouncy bands for desks, 15 bouncy bands for chairs, 16 chewable pencil toppers and 18 fidget pencil toppers to help them stay focused and on task during instruction and independent work time.

My Students

I am a special education teacher at an urban Cleveland public school. Most of my students have ADHD and/or high levels of lead combined with a variety of other disabilities.

My class is a special education classroom in an urban district.

My school is 100% poverty. My students have experienced violence, drug abuse and some have experienced homelessness. My students have ADHD and/or high levels of lead. They struggle with focusing and staying on task. My students need to move and release energy throughout the day.

My Project

My students will use the bouncy bands either on their chairs or desks. This will allow my students to release energy and help them stay focused on learning. The fidget toppers and chewable toppers will allow their hands to be doing something and is not distracting to others. This will allow my students to focus more on lessons and learn.

Funding this project will give my students an opportunity to learn.

The students will be more focused and be able to learn. If the students are focused, they can learn to read and write. When they can read and write, it opens a door to endless possibilities.
