This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Welcome to the world of Early Childhood Special Education, a classroom of energetic and exceptional children.

I am requesting items for our calming area , items that will help the 3-5 yr old students learn to explore their feelings, such as the shake and soothe sensory tubes, the cuddly puppy weighted lap pad , gel- based emotion friends and the calm down cubes.

Each items serves as an age appropriate way of regulating emotions , regaining focus and helps build fine motor and sensory exploration. Each item will provide a calming effect. My goal is for my students to learn to self regulate in a positive way, to let them know emotions are ok .

Sometimes when they get overwhelmed with being upset, scared, sad, excited, and other emotions, that they know there is a safe area in the classroom to calm down.
