Help me give my students and colleagues sensory tools for our sixth-grade classes. My goal is to create a desk basket for 6 classrooms so that we have resources at hand for the emotional needs of our students.

My Project
My students show up every day to learn, but sometimes the entire class gets derailed because of one or two kids with ADHD or severe anxiety. It has been those students who have taught me about calming tools. My goal is to create a “stay calm, grab a fidget” basket for each of the classrooms in our sixth-grade hall. Most of us have taught for less than 3 years, and this will be our first year with this age group. I would like us to be prepared as well as have a consistent place among classrooms that students can return to when needed. It would give the teachers a starting point that we could add to as needed. We have 2 teams of 3 classes. 2 math, 2 ELA, and science/social studies rotate. If you can donate, it would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
