My Project
SES is home to a diverse student body from around the world. We have recent immigrants and refugees who attend our school. When our littlest learners come to the library they love stories and songs. They bring their joy of learning every time they enter the room. However, they come to the library for an hour each week and I would like to give them an opportunity to use some of that time to create and tell stories on their own! Their class time should be more student centered.
Students would benefit from puppets, puzzles, and storytelling dolls to create their own stories.
This is what is missing from the Swift library, an opportunity for preK and kindergarten students in general education and special education to retell the stories we read or to create stories of their own. During the past few years students have missed out on opportunities to play and be together. These puzzles, dolls, and puppets will create a space for students to tell stories together. I just know our littlest learners will love these materials!
