My Project
I teach 5th grade Math at a Title-I school in Richardson, TX. We have a huge population of 1st generation Americans and refugees, who are very appreciative of educational opportunities!
Many students have (or are overcoming) language barriers, economic gaps, and assimilating to an entirely new country.
School is a huge stepping stone to accessing equal opportunity in the United States.
Materials such as binder tabs and notebooks will be used to teach life skills such as organization and responsibility. Pencils, erasers, and dry erase markers are also crucial school supplies and will be used daily for interactive notes and math lessons. In addition, lamination pouches, ziplock baggies, magnetic pouches, and disinfecting wipes will help ensure activities are ready for each group of students (I have 3 class periods).
