Help me give my students a fully stocked classroom in September! By having notebooks, folders, pens, and pencils at the ready, students will be able to begin learning and forming connections with each other on day one!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Each September, our students enter our classrooms unsure of what to expect and what we will be asking of them. Oftentimes, students may not have the resources to buy what teachers ask of them during those first few days. Back-to-school supplies can run parents up into hundreds and hundreds of dollars.
By being able to provide notebooks, folders, pens, and pencils on day one, our students will know that they are in a place that cares more about who they are than what supplies they bring to our classroom.
Once they know we are a place that can help fulfill those needs, whether it is for our classroom or another teacher's class, students will become more comfortable and that is when the real learning happens.
