Starting With the Basics!

Help me give my students some basic supplies to start off their year right! Pencils, colored pencils, post-it notes will all help them start their year off with supplies that they need to be successful.

My Students

My students come from many different backgrounds.

I teach ESL students within my middle school classroom representing over 15 different countries. Many of our students are transient or refugees, and we have a number of students experiencing homelessness.

I am hoping this project will help my students to continue to celebrate the diversity within themselves and to feel empowered to succeed even when experiencing tumultuous times.

My Project

Starting the school year can be challenging for students who don't come to school with the basic supplies they may need. By having basic supplies ready for my students such as pencils, colored pencils, post-it notes and dry erase markers, students will be able to hit the ground running!

You can’t change what is in your students’ bank account, but you can change what’s in their emotional account.

By providing what they need to be academically successful will help my students not only feel empowered, but cared for. To know that they have so many people cheering them on will be more powerful than any lesson I can teach.
