Starting the Year With Fresh Supplies

My students need writing, reading, and math materials and resources to help start their school year and for different activities, games, and enrichment/reteaching.

My Students

What are we in 2nd grade? We are flexible and organized! My students walk into my classroom every day excited for the new adventures on which I will take them. They are eager to see what each new day will bring and willing to try their very best in every activity they engage in.

My classroom is an inclusion classroom servicing Special Education students in a general education setting.

I have to use a lot of differentiation throughout my school day to be sure I am reaching and allowing each student access to the curriculum to the best of their ability. I spend hours modifying, creating, and altering assignments so that each student can be confident in his/her work and feel like they are able to meet the requirements for every assignment.

Also, in my class, I have many students who are a part of nutrition club, which gives them food weekly to bring home. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day. They know my classroom is their happy and safe place.

My Project

All of these materials will make a difference for my students. The plastic envelopes will be used to store all of our math games. The class set of iClever Kids headphones will be used for our technology devices for friends who do not have their own headphones. The Post-it notes will be used for all the exciting things we will do in readers workshop this year. The markers will be used for projects and anchor charts. The spinners will be used for math games. The magnetic board will be used for small group instruction. The paper will be used for many different projects. The erasers and all the dry erase tools will be used during small and large group instruction, games and activities.

All of these materials will also better help students' engagement and involvement in my classroom.
