Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Starting the school year with the necessary materials is essential for creating an effective learning environment. At McKinley Elementary, Compton Unified School District, materials can be difficult to acquire and often are not sufficient throughout the year to supply my second grade classroom.
Two summers ago I created my own classroom set of dry erase boards by cutting a large sheet of marker board from the hardware store into smaller child sized boards. Every year I supply my classroom with dry erase markers, however it can be very expensive throughout the school year to continue a classroom supply. Using dry erase boards and markers during classroom lessons are extremely useful; they can be used to check for understanding, and also give children a chance to work out a math problem or write a sentence down with the flexibility of fixing their mistakes easily and without pressure. If you are interested in helping me to supply my classroom with these materials please consider my proposal for your donation. Thank you so much for your attention!
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
