Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I work at a Title I school where everyone qualifies for free lunch. Our students work hard and have little time or money for extra curricular activities such as art.
My art class may be the only time our kids get to experience art, so we want to make the experience as special as we can.
We have a great program with great teachers. However, there are a few items we would like to provide that just is not in our budget.
My Project
The beginning of school means new beginnings as well as new backpacks, and supplies.
My favrote thing growing up about the new school year was shopping for school supplies and stuffling my pencil box with new pencils and erasers.
Many of our students don't have that same experience.
I want to be sure no student goes without a pencil or eraser this year. I want to have plenty of supplies on hand to be sure that my students have what it takes to be succesful. The lack of a pencil should not be the reason a student does not suceed in school.
