My students need prizes such as the bracelets, rings, pencils, pencil sharpeners, mini notebooks, stamps, and toy assortments to work towards incentives. We need the pens and Expo markers to complete work in our small groups.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is dedicated to preparing our students to be successful socially, emotionally, and academically both now and in the future. We believe that through our commitment to learning, collaboration with families and the community, and collaboration amongst educators that we are preparing our students to become the next generation of leaders.
As a special education teacher, I strive to help my students become active learners within their classroom community.
I want them to succeed alongside their peers and become independent thinkers. I work alongside teachers in different grade levels. By working together we create an environment where every student can reach his or her potential.
My Project
When we start our next school year, our PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Support) team is going to really work on promoting a positive school atmosphere. Students who demonstrate our school rules, being safe, being respectful, and being responsible, can earn tickets from any staff member in our building. Students in K to 2 can enter their tickets into a school-wide raffle, and students in 3 - 5 can use theirs to pick items from a school store. During our welcome back week activities with students, we want to make sure that we have incentives that appeal to the kids.
By donating to my project, you will help us reward our students who help make our school have a positive environment to learn.
We chose prizes that the students are really excited about trying to earn, such as emoji items, squish balls, stamps, slap bracelets, mechanical pencils, and pens. Each student at our school will be given a chance to earn something. This variety will also get students in grades K3 through 5th something to choose from!
The other big items, such as the Flair pens, glue sticks, and Expo dry erase markers will be used during small group activities in the 4th and 5th grade classrooms that I go in to teach my special education students. Whenever they get to use the dry erase boards or do their writing in fun colors, they get more excited about their learning.
