Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are curious about the world around them and eager to learn. They have spunky personalities and are bursting with energy.
Many of them are being raised in single parent households, are English language learners, and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status.
However, these obstacles will not hold my students back from all they want to accomplish and learn during the school year. From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, they are focused on reaching their academic goals.
My Project
Often times students can't complete an activity because they don't have the basic necessary materials to begin. We can't start a math lesson because none of the pencils are sharpened or we have to interrupt our reading lesson because a student is bleeding.
The materials that I'm requesting are standard supplies of any classroom to make sure the learning is the focus.
Bandages for bleeding fingers, sharpeners for dull pencils, and charts to keep track of our learning are all necessities in a modern classroom. With these materials, we can go straight into academics and efficiently use time in class.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
