My Students

My students are unique in that they come from many different towns in Connecticut. Their math background is as varied as they are. Some students come with good procedural knowledge of concepts but lack conceptual understanding. Other students lack both procedural and conceptual understanding.

I would love to be able to differentiate my lessons to meet the needs of all of my students.

Math is both verbal and written. Being able to see my students as I work with them is important to me.

My Project

These materials will make a difference in the learning of my students because they will be able to learn in a more hands-on approach. The students will be able to visualize their learning in front of them which will help them grasp concepts better. When students can use materials independently, they will better be able to apply the instruction to their own learning. Graph paper is essential in middle school math and more often than not harder to find than it should be.

Students can also use these materials to keep their work organized and in one spot that is readily accessible at all times.

They will be able to use these materials at home as well so that they can continue their learning.
