My students always arrive on the first day of school eager and ready to take on kindergarten with all they have. Some come a little nervous and unsure of themselves, especially those that are coming to school for the very first time. Whatever the case may be, they come ready to show all they think they know!
My students will need a variety of writing implements and other materials from the very start to practice the writing that will grow by leaps and bounds throughout the year.
We will need to use all the materials during our daily routines and practice. I do, we do, you do is on constant repeat in kindergarten and the children will practice in whole group, small group, and while at play!
We will need the #2 pencils for handwriting practice, in the writing center, and to write daily in our writing journals. We will use the dry erase markers to practice math, letter formation, and phonics using white boards. We will use the sticky notes to begin taking notes, in the writing center, and to make our growing number line. The pens and colored pencils will be placed in the writing center to provide the children with several different mediums to practice their writing.
