Help start an art program focused on ecology, community, and social justice!
I am designing the art program at a brand new charter high school in Arizona. We believe strongly in social justice, eco-awareness, and an integrated curriculum. Art is an incredible tool to not only get teens to look at their world through new viewpoints, but get them excited about learning again.
Since our school just opened this August, we do not yet have the funding to provide the art department with certain necessary materials. I plan on utilizing as many recycled/reused/home-made supplies as I can, but certain items such as drawing pencils, paper, and paint are better bought new.
I am asking for help in purchasing a variety of basic art supplies including drawing paper, pencils, acrylic paint, and brushes. These materials will be used in projects designed to develop critical thinking and problem solving, as opposed to traditional paint-by-numbers, arts-and-crafts assignments.
Your donation will not only support the arts in an ecological high school, but provide the necessary tools for students to look at the world with a critical eye and create positive change.
