Starting a Spanish language Classroom Library!

My Project

I teach introductory Spanish to grades k-4 at a wonderful charter school. This is our first year introducing second language acquisition to our students.

I would love to continue to grow the enthusiasm my students have shown and provide them with tangible bilingual and Spanish language literature with a small classroom library!

I’d love to have a small set of familiar and new Spanish language books for my classes to access. We utilize multiple methods of language input, but I would love to be able to incorporate literature in a more meaningful way.

In a world of rapidly advancing technology I firmly believe in the importance of putting real books in the hands of my students. I wish to provide them with the opportunity to experience the essential and wonderful ritual of reading books - bilingual and Spanish. No technology can approach the sacred ritual of browsing for a book, feeling its weight, opening the cover and escaping into another world.
