This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have 24 bright 4 year old students who are eager to learn and explore throughout the school year. I enjoy seeing their little faces light up when they learn and build new things. They are so proud of themselves when they complete a project and are excited to share what they have done with their peers, family and myself.
My students enjoy playing with manipulatives, molding play dough and coloring.
For many of my students, this is their first schooling experience. My students are active and eager to learn. They enjoy going to centers because it allows them to use different manipulatives to explore with. My students attend a Title One School and come from a low social-economic background. Ninety-eight percent of the students receive free or reduced lunch. Despite the many challenges they may have, they come to school ready to explore and learn everyday.
My Project
My students will have the opportunity to acquire so many learning skills with the use of all these manipulatives. They can use the counters to sort by colors, objects or classifications. They can also use them to make patterns on the trays. In addition, they will be able to work on their fine motor skills through the use of play-dough, crayons and scissors.
With all these wonderful resources, my students will have the opportunity to learn and explore through play.
They will also be able to sort all these objects in bins which will be labeled with the appropriate picture for them to see.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
