Help me give my students books that help teach social emotional skills which is a huge priority for my school district; Lego figurines for my students when they have Friday fun and supplies.
I teach one of the three classrooms of third graders. The students come from lots of different cultures, family, structures and economic situations. They are enthusiastic learners and each one brings something unique to the situation. My students don't always have the means to have access to these types of materials, so I would like to ask your help. I want to give my students lots of choices and opportunities that they may not always get to enrich their lives.
My Project
My district has a priority of developing social emotional skills in students. I have chosen books that I can read which will go along with the district lessons. The books have a variety of cultures represented in them to make sure all my students who come from a variety of backgrounds can see themselves in the books. I have also included Lego figurines in my wish list. My students are allowed to have Friday fun which gives them time to create and work together. Mine have disappeared over the years. I need a fresh set. I have some chart paper on my wish list which I use during my morning meetings which bring us together as a community.
