This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from low-income families who have not all had the opportunity to experience everything the world has to offer them. They are able to use what is provided to them inside the classroom, but would love to enhance their learning even more! My students are eager to learn, and would benefit from hands-on activities and other resources that will allow them to grow.
Knowing that many of my students are unable to afford educational materials necessary to grow, I am eager to find a way to provide it to them on my own!
My Project
My students need materials that will contribute to the success of their learning! As we approach the new school year, teachers are thinking about the many different things that are needed in order to start the year off right! My students and I will need new pencils, erasers, pencil sharpeners, and more in order to start fresh. Students are using pencils to express their learning from day one, so it would be beneficial to have sharpened pencils ready to go!
I want to provide my class with materials that will allow for smooth transitions, supporting students as they grab their things quickly and successfully.It becomes very difficult when there are not enough pencils for every student in the class.
Having newly sharpened pencils will rule out this issue.
