My Students
Our day begins with carpet time where we sing, review skills, and discuss the events of the the day. In our classroom, we "make every minute count" by providing the highest level of engagement every moment of the day. Attending this conference will increase my ability to provide such experiences.
My students are 4 and 5 year old students who were identified by my district as "at risk".
Most come from low income families with very limited educational backgrounds. Many of my students speak English as a second language. Despite their circumstances my students are happy and eager to learn.
My Project
I will use the strategies learned at the Ron Clark Academy conference to provide consistency and structure to my classroom. I will implement the strategies immediately. My students will learn research-based strategies to help them succeed in a variety of educational and noneducational settings.
This conference will better prepare me to provide challenging and engaging activities for my students.
I will also share the information with other teachers in my building for continuity across grade levels.
