The items in our shopping cart will help us start the year off with our basic supplies. I like to clean the entire room with Chlorox wipes so the room is ready for students first day of school. Every student should walk in to a clean desk, clean room, and overall clean home environment. The tissues and paper towels will help us for the first few weeks of school.
The push up lead pencils, cute pencil erasers, and happy birthday items will all be added to our prize box.
Students earn a prize from the box each Friday. In my classroom, the prize box is used as an added incentive to get students to want to attend school each day.
In addition to earning points for coming to school, students earn points for being respectful and responsible. For example, if a student is helping another student pick up math/science materials they would earn a point. Another example, is when a student earns points for working with their team to solve math problems.
