My Project
My students represent an amazing wealth of cultures, languages, and history. Their families are amazingly supportive and are very involved in their child's education. My classroom is comprised of mostly second language learners. My students work so hard and are super excited to learn. We are a Title I school in a community where parents opt to come to our school because they want the best for their children. Our school is a home away from home, as it is a K-12 charter school and you can often see siblings and family members all around, which gives everyone a sense of an extended family.
The gift cards will be used as an incentive for PBIS and Lexia learning goals so that each child can earn a hot or cold drink and a sweet treat as a reward for all of their hard work in math and reading.
We count, subitize, make patterns, categorize and graph so much! We use our calendar daily and little markers in time help us to keep motivated. Our next big one is the holidays, and this treat will keep them moving and grooving knowing that we are all going to earn their teacher's favorite treat: STARBUCKS! I will have them show leadership and hard work to attain this goal. Those that have learned their letters and sounds for the whole alphabet will be rewarded with a cake pop!
