My students need 2 copies each of 22 different books for our Star Book reading list.

I teach at a small school in Southern Indiana. We struggle, like all schools, trying to purchase useful materials while still maintaining a budget. As a teacher I want to expose my students to various reading materials to spark their interest.

In second grade we try every way possible to encourage students to read. Our newest way is to create a list of books that are on second grade level that cover a rage of topics that students in second grade should be exposed to. After the students read all 22 of the books I have chosen they will be rewarded with a personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut.

Sadly some students only read books that they are required to read. As a teacher it is my job to help them become lifelong readers. I want to expose them to as much reading material as possible and hope they find the love for reading on their own.

Do you remember the book you read that made the adjustment from reading for necessity to reading for pleasure? I want expose students to as many books as possible to ensure they find the books that they love and can read for pleasure. I need your help purchasing these materials to ensure my students find the lifelong love for reading.
