My Students
Writing can be a difficult task. My Kindergarteners are just beginning their paths to becoming authors. We need help getting our materials organized so we can focus on our stories!
My class usually consists of 25 kindergarteners.
We are a Title 1 school. This means that many of my students come from homes with lower incomes. They do not have as many experiences as an average student in another school. I also have a group of students who are learning English as their second language and another group who receive extra help through special education services.
My Project
Kindergarteners need to be able to practice writing for a variety of purposes. This requires different kinds of paper to be available. The tabletop writing center and other materials will allow my students to be independent in accessing their own writing materials. They will learn what they need to accomplish the task they are choosing to pursue in their writing.
Whether it is making a grocery list, writing a resume, or taking notes from a phone call, writing is a vital part of everyday life.
Without the ability to practice this skill, a child would grow up with a big setback in life.
More than half of students from low‑income households
