Visualizing math facts with the dice help children learn facts and play motivating games, timing themselves challenge them to beat their score. These simple things help students to be more prepared to meet the challenges that face them.
My students are 7 and 8 years old.
They are eager to learn and love motivating things that encourage them to be better. They come from a low income area who need extra help funding basic supplies. They are responsible and respectful children who have developed strong characters of integrity. Our class motto is "Kindness is the Essence of Greatness." They are kind children.
My Project
The stapler and pencil sharpener will be used for daily classroom procedures. Last year our class went through 2 pencil sharpeners. We do many writing assignments where they express their feelings and evaluate different genres of literature and writings. The timers, the children use to time themselves on Fry Phrases and readings that increase their fluency in reading. We also use them on addition and subtraction facts. Some children need to visualize their math facts. The large dice will be used for these children to see the math problems as they learn to figure out the equations in their minds. We use them for games to help learning become fun.
Teaching children to learn and understand is one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had.
I love to teach. I want my students to excel and know they can accomplish great things. We serve each other in our class. Through Donors Choice my students can see what it is like to receive service.
