A typical day in our room... our day is jammed packed from the moment we walk through the doors. The only time we get a chance to breathe is during lunch and recess. Seeing students with signs of ADD or ADHD has made me realize, how can I make them sit still...let them stand!
Our room is a classroom of 21 students coming from all different backgrounds.
They all have so much energy. Every child in our school receives free breakfast and lunch as we are a low-income school. However, just because we don't have money, doesn't mean that we don't have a bright future ahead.
My Project
I have at least two students that could benefit from the use of a standing desk. Having access to a standing desk allows the student that needs to move, to still be able to be engaged in the lesson. It could be used in all subject areas. Having standing desks will be a really positive thing for the children I teach.
Your donation to my classroom will improve the focus of some of my students.
I was even thinking of starting some kind of rotation so that everyone gets a chance to try standing up for a day. It's just too bad there aren't 21 of them available. Please help learning be more comfortable by donating two standing desks.
