Standing Tall

Help me give my students different seating options! tons of fidgety students who struggle with sitting, I’d like to support them with standing desks as an option. This one in particular because of the fidget bar!

My Project

I love working with middle schoolers but also have to acknowledge their need for options, movement, and space that works for them. My goal is to transition some traditional desks to standing desks with fidget bars to continue to encourage mental stimulation, content engagement, and peer collaboration. With the different seating options students have the opportunity to alternate between standing and sitting, depending on their needs. The fidget bar allows the student to get some of their energy out while still working within their groups or partnerships on assignments. This option also allows students to maintain the integrity of their expectations instead of falling out of their seats because of their needs to stand/move.
