My Students
Pocket charts allow for hands-on, visual learning. But, if you don't have a stand it's hard to effectively use pocket charts.
I am the lucky teacher of twenty eight fantastic Second graders.
My students come from more than ten different countries and speak 14 different home languages! My school focuses on immigrant, refugee, and neighborhood students. Over 85% of our students receive free or reduced lunch.
My students deserve high quality materials and experiences, which are often denied to them due to home and school budget issues. You can help give them the high quality educational experiences they deserve.
My Project
My students love to learn by doing. I have a fantastic pocket chart right now, but in order to use it we have to string it up on cabinet doors or attach it to the radiator! This pocket chart stand will help my students stand up tall while doing their work. The addition of two more pocket charts will provide many more learning opportunities. When we study the food pyramid it will come alive as students can sort objects into their correct section. Students will gain an understanding of blends sounds and the letters that create them with the blend chart. The big book pocket chart will allow for our collection of big books to be easily accessed by students.
Your generosity will helps us put our current pocket charts to good use, as well as giving us new learning opportunities.
Second graders learn best through hands-on activities and your gifts will make that possible!
