My Students

My students come with various learning disabilities.

Their disabilities range from Autism, Asperger's, Speech & Language, FAS, TBI, ADHD, and Memory, however, they are the hardest working students I've ever had. Even when they begin to lose focus they're always trying their best. My students come from low economic households. Our school is a Title I school, where most students receive free school lunch.

We do not have the resources to provide all necessary materials, and it is difficult for their parents at times to send in their child's school supplies. I strive each day to make a difference in my students' lives and tell them how much I believe in them and how the world is a better place because they are in it!

My Project

Special needs students learn best through targeted small group instruction. Our class desperately needs these chart stands, so that we can have a dedicated areas to provide students with the differentiation they need to succeed. These stands will allow for storage of various materials so that every learner can be reached. It will also allow for each student to have a private learning environment, since we are a kindergarten and first grade special education bridge class, so that they can focus during their targeted instruction.

This project will improve my classroom because many of my students need targeted small group instruction in order to be successful.

Students will be able to improve their confidence, as they learn topics at their own ability level. Having a dedicated area, will make transitions smoother and differentiated materials will be readily available.
