I teach 6th grade in a small town, where our school is the focus of our incredible community! Our students work extremely hard, love learning, and enjoy being creative. My students are what keep me in the teaching profession.

It's important that they leave us knowing that they are special, have unique abilities, and CAN be successful with hard work, determination, and best efforts.
My Project
My students and I love learning around the room. We love sitting on couches, in chairs, and using pillows on the floor. Some of us even love standing while learning. It's hard for us to sit all day. However, the usual school environment expects students to sit all day in uncomfortable chairs.
This standing desk and comfortable stools will allow the students and teacher to have another learning option in the classroom.
Standing in the classroom has many benefits such as enhancing focus and increasing engagement, which results in successful learning.
I'm constantly moving around the room, giving students feedback. Having a stationary place where the students and I can stand or comfortably sit and collaborate would give us choice in the learning environment.
