This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Did you know that standing desks have been found to increase classroom engagement 12 to 15 percent? That is huge! Especially in kindergarten where the little ones are easily distracted.
I have a class of 27 little wiggle worms who try to use their regular tables as standing desks because they just need to stand and move.
That works out about as well as you think it does. These desks will help my kids be better (and safer) students. I will use them as flexible seating so my students can get some movement and keep learning.
My students are amazing. They are kind, loving and oh, so, sweet! Some of them just cannot sit still and a standing desk would be a big help to them. School should not be a struggle for any child. If a standing desk can make a difference, let's get it for them!
