My Project

Please help bring engaging and hands-on science manipulatives to my class of "difference-makers". My classroom is filled with bright, curious, and thoughtful engineers. The items in my cart will foster their curiosity and wonder about the world around them. The science models help bring access to all learners by making science fun, engaging, and approachable.

The Water-Cycle Model will be used during our unit on Weather, Climate, and Water-Cycling

The model of the human eye will be used during our unit on Light and Matter when students learn how our bodies take in light and turn it into something visual. They learn about near-sighted and far-sighted and how the shape of the lens changes how the image is focused onto the optic nerve.

The Stirling Motor will be used during our unit on Thermal Energy. Stirling motors can work solely from the heat of your hand (temperature difference between hand and air temperature) and will help them visualize an otherwise "invisible" force.

The plasma globe and the moving sand art will be used by several of my students who require a calm-down / refocus area in the classroom. Students who need help with self-regulating find these types of devices calming and memorizing. I like they are also science-themed and quiet. These items help them refocus and rejoin our classroom community reducing the amount of time they spend out of class. This is part of our Social Emotional Learning.

The motivational stickers are wonderful reward stickers that support our SEL and are an essential part of our PBIS system.

The markers, post-its and document sleeves allow my students to engage in their learning in different and creative ways. All these items will be used and loved for years to come. Thank you for supporting these amazing students.
