This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am the only school counselor for over 600 amazing students. Ninety percent of our students are Latino and 76% are from low-income families. About 11% of our students are considered special needs. Our students are bright and creative and come from hard-working, loving families that want to see their children succeed.
Not being physically in school has been a challenge for many students, families, and teachers, but we are all trying the best we can with what we have.
My Project
Everyone knows that sitting for long periods of time is not good for your health. Being on your feet though, makes you feel more energetic, more productive, and even improves your mood. My amazing students deserve a teacher like that.
Having an adjustable laptop stand will allow me to adjust my camera so my students see me clearly and gives me the option to sit or stand while I deliver my lessons.
We have been remote learning since school began and it gets more and more challenging each day. Our district recently announced a plan to go back in February, but that may be extended depending on the pandemic.
Sitting most of the day has caused back and neck pain. Since my option to be active during the school day is limited, I am exhausted at the end of the day due to lack of movement. Please help my students have the fun-loving, energetic, and positive teacher they deserve.
