Help me give my students a high yield vegetable garden. Stakes and fertilizer are key to helping a garden produce an abundance of food. Staking up the plants helps with air flow and reduces disease.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love summer enrichment! The students that come in the summer are really special kids. Summer gives them an opportunity to explore their interests.
As the veggies grow so does their excitement.
Students are always amazed that their hard work can produce something delicious. The goals are to teach kids about nutrition as they learn how to manage a garden ecosystem.
Students will learn what nutrients to add to soil to create a healthy system. They will also learn that airflow by staking and trellising plants is important to pest control. Most importantly they will learn how to do this using natural fertilizers and companion planting.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
