Stage-Ready: Empowering Students Through Theatrical Makeup

My Project
What I love most about my students is their passion, resilience, and curiosity. Many of them come from underprivileged backgrounds, and yet they show up each day ready to learn, to create, and to express themselves. Theatre is more than an elective for them, it's a space where they feel seen, valued, and free to explore who they are.
Makeup is one of the most exciting elements for my students.
It allows them to transform, to tell stories with color and texture, and to step fully into the roles they play. Unfortunately, we currently lack the resources to give them the hands-on experience they crave. These makeup kits would do more than just add polish to a performance. They would open doors to learning about character development, design, and even career paths in the arts. Having their own tools would empower them to experiment, to build confidence, and to take ownership of their creativity.
With these resources, my students will not only improve their theatre skills, but they’ll also see that their ideas, their art, and their dreams matter.
